AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #397 (1995) – FIRST APPEARANCE OF STUNNER

Published by Marvel Comics in 1995, Amazing Spider-Man #397 features “Tentacles,” the opening chapter of the four-part “Web of Death” storyline. The issue is also notable for the first appearance of Stunner, Doctor Octopus’ powerful ally.

After the antidote fails to remove the Vulture’s deadly virus from his body, Peter Parker is rapidly running out of time. In a strange twist of fate, Doctor Octopus decides to save his greatest enemy. During the process, Otto Octavius discovers that Spider-Man is Peter Parker.

Written by J.M. DeMatteis with artwork by Mark Bagley and Larry Mahlstedt, this key Clone Saga issue features Doctor Octopus, Stunner and Kaine. The story continues from Spectacular Spider-Man #219 and leads into Spectacular Spider-Man #220.

The flipbook edition also includes “Radically Both,” a short Spider-Man vs. Lizard story written by Christopher Golden.
