AVENGERS #261 - 1985

Published by Marvel Comics in 1985, Avengers #261 features “Earth and Beyond!”, a crossover chapter connected to the Secret Wars II event.

Following their cosmic battle involving Nebula and the Skrulls, the Avengers finally return to their Fifth Avenue mansion. While the team was away, however, an immensely powerful visitor arrived—the Beyonder.

Captain America and the Wasp confront the Beyonder in Washington, while Hercules and the Black Knight encounter him at Project Pegasus. Realizing that defeating such a powerful being may be impossible, the Avengers consider an unexpected solution: inviting the Beyonder to join the team.

Written by Roger Stern with artwork by John Buscema and Tom Palmer, the story continues from Avengers Annual #14. The issue also features Starfox announcing his departure from the Avengers to pursue Nebula across the universe.
