SANDMAN #72 - 1995

The Sandman #72 presents the third chapter of Neil Gaiman’s The Wake and concludes the funeral ceremony for Morpheus.

Destiny speaks first as the family and companions of the former Dream King share their memories. Morpheus begins his final journey along the river, with Death delivering the ceremony’s closing words before the assembled dreamers awaken.

After the funeral, Destruction meets Daniel, the new Dream of the Endless, while Daniel confronts Lyta Hall and makes an important decision about her future. Featuring Michael Zulli’s atmospheric pencil artwork and a painted cover by Dave McKean, this issue provides an emotional conclusion to Morpheus’ story.
